Brian Copeland Unveils New Single, Teams up with The Beautiful Trainwrecks, Kelly Brightwell at Jimmy Mak’s on Saturday November 14th at 8 p.m.

Brian Copeland Band will headline a three-act night of new music at Portland’s own Jimmy Mak’s, Saturday, November 14th at 8 P.M. with The Beautiful Trainwrecks and the Kelly Brightwell Band, admission $10 at the door.

Copeland and his band will perform the first single from his latest collaboration award-winning producer/engineer Keith Sommers and those attending the show will get a complementary copy of the song. Sommers engineered and co-produced the “Circles” and “B Sides” recordings with Copeland in 2010 and 2013, the latter earning the 2015 Akademia Music Award for Best Alternative Rock Album. The single “Closer to OK” can be heard on radio stations around the world.

Singing and strumming since the age of ten, Brian Copeland has cultivated a unique brand of catchy and lyrical guitar-pop. The evolution of Copeland’s current band can be traced back through nearly fifteen years of on-stage success and partnerships with dozens of accomplished musicians through his previous bands The Furleys and Pale Green Pants. Today, The Brian Copeland Band boasts unsurpassed regional talent including Arcellus Sykes on bass guitar, Mike Snyder on drums, and Jeff Koch on lead guitar.

Portland’s The Beautiful Trainwrecks is a roots rock band that fuses together traditional Americana with the energy and zest of modern rock-n-roll. Their diverse musical influences and deep musical experience result in a unique and instantly catchy sound. Featuring two- and three-part harmonies, the melodic lines of lyrics drift in and out of a listener’s ears like the voice of an old familiar friend.

The Kelly Brightwell Band plays Shimmering Northwest Americana. Kelly’s cinematic, rain-soaked folk songs reflect bittersweet themes that are both literary and meditative. Her songwriting has been recognized in numerous national outlets, including the Tucson Folk Festival Songwriting Contest, the IAMA/Susanne Millsaps Songwriter Showcase, and the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest Songwriting Contest.

Admission is $10 at the door. Music starts at 8:00 p.m. Advance reservations to guarantee seating for the show can be made by calling 503-295-6542.

“His (Copeland’s) songs dance with dreamy winks of Beatles-esque shiver; Crowded House’s Neil Finn (who remains at large); and a majestic dose of Matthew Sweet - all of these things, of course, are Very, Very Good.”
— The Corvallis Gazette Times
“There is something to be said for a well-crafted pop song, and this disc is full of them.”
— The Oregonian (on “The B Sides”)
